Jackie Traverse is a multi-disciplinary First Nations artist who calls Winnipeg home. Much of her work incorporates a combination of popular and traditional cultural reflections, which she portrays through her knowledge of urban life, contemporary visual art, traditional crafts, and her own cultural practices. She works in a variety of media, from oil and acrylic painting to mixed media, sculpture, and stop-motion animation.
